Anxiety disorders are the most common mental health condition in the United States, affecting over 40 million adults. Tulisha Sengupta (name changed), a 27-year-old working woman in an MNC in Gurugram, was one of them. She had been struggling with severe anxiety and depression for several months, which was impacting her personal and professional life.

Ms. Sengupta decided to seek help from Manasthali, a leading mental health and wellness platform. After undergoing a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, she was enrolled in a cognitive-behavioral therapy program. Through CBT, Ms. Sengupta learned how to identify and challenge negative thought patterns, develop coping mechanisms for dealing with stress and anxiety, and practice relaxation and mindfulness techniques.

“Cognitive-behavioral therapy is an effective treatment for anxiety and depression because it focuses on changing negative thought patterns and behaviors,” says Dr. Jyoti Kapoor, Founder-Director and Senior Psychiatrist at Manasthali. “Through CBT, we were able to help Tulisha manage her anxiety and overcome her panic disorders.”

According to the Anxiety and Depression Association of America, cognitive-behavioral therapy has been shown to be effective in treating anxiety disorders, with approximately 50-75% of individuals experiencing significant improvement in their symptoms.

Ms. Sengupta’s story serves as a reminder that with the right treatment and support, individuals can overcome their mental health challenges and lead happier, healthier lives.
