CPHI & PMEC China 2023 to launch international roadshow in Guangzhou

In a move reflecting South China’s significant rise in the global pharmaceutical landscape, CPHI & PMEC China is set to host an exclusive roadshow in Guangzhou, the heart of the Guangdong Province. This follows the record-breaking attendance at the recently concluded CPHI & PMEC China 2023 event. The roadshow will be held at the PWTC Expo from 4-6 September, 2023, and it is expected to feature over 200 regional companies and attract over 10,000 visitors.

Jenny Leung, Regional Manager at Informa Markets, highlighted that China, like the United States, now has multiple pharmaceutical hubs, with the Pearl River Delta being one of the primary ones. This geographic diversification within China’s pharmaceutical industry and the region’s visa-free access to over 60 countries has driven the decision to launch this roadshow.

Given the timing after the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RPEC) agreement, many pharmaceutical companies in South China are planning to tap into global markets, leveraging their robust manufacturing base. Guangdong, housing the country’s second-largest number of Contract Development and Manufacturing Organizations (CDMOs) and being a top-ranked R&D center, is poised for quick expansion of its pharmaceutical manufacturing base.

The roadshow will spotlight several programs, including the Synthetic Biological Manufacturing Forum and the “Intelligent” Pharmaceutical Factory Construction, Operation, and Maintenance Workshop, showcasing the region’s shift towards advanced manufacturing.
